Actin(A) : One of two proteins responsible for contraction of muscle cells and the motility of other cells.
Objective : Microfilament is one component of cytoskeleton, and it is mainly composed of actin.
The commonest protein in muscle; a globulin that combines with actin to form actomyosin.
Global or filament actin was visualized in cytoplasm and nucleus of tobacco pollen mother cells, under immunoelectron microscope.
These observations indicate that JMY is an important factor controlling actin dynamics in motile cells.
