This paper proposes a novel peak picking algorithm with binary lateral inhibition network.
The background and formula of peak picking method with unknown input is mainly studied, and its general flow chart is given and problems which are required in the experimental process are discussed.
The ambient vibration field-testings were firstly carried out. Secondly, the peak picking ( PP ) method in frequency domain and the stochastic subspace identification ( SSI ) method in time domain were used for the output-only modal parameter identification.
The results show that the new algorithm performance is better than two traditional algorithms & cepstrum and autocorrelation based F0 extraction algorithm, and show that the new peak picking method is practical.
We apply this effective peak picking method into extraction of fundamental frequency ( F0 ), in which it serves to pick harmonic peaks from the short term spectrum of speech signal.
