The construction of Target Text ( TT ) is interpreted in terms of cognitive context and relevance and their effects on translation are analyzed.
This current thesis observes the phenomenon of preserving in the target text ( TT ) the cultural value of the source text ( ST ) in the process of translation.
Their viewpoints include attitudes towards translation strategies, concept of translation, status and relationship of source text ( ST ) and target text ( TT ), the role of translator, and theories on text types.
The main task of translation is to establish correspondence between source text ( ST ) and target text ( TT ), taking account of the ST author's intentions, while at the same time producing a translation that meets the TT reader's expectations.
If all the three metafunctions of the source text ( ST ) are completely transferred into the target text ( TT ), then the translation can be deemed as an ideal one.
